Thank You for signing up for this years annual Turkey Trot. The below items are important for you to consider for us all to have a successful event.
Early Packet Pickup
Will be available at Vaughan Hall on Wednesday during regular business hours 8:30AM to 4:30PM. We highly recommend you take advantage of this if possible. Packet pickup and day of entry will also be available between the hours of 7 – 8AM Thursday morning. Race day signup will end at 8:00AM.
Please respect local citizens ability to access their driveways if you are unable to park in available lots. Their goodwill is important to the success and future of the event. Parking will be available directly across from Vaughn Hall in the Colony parking lot. Additional parking is also available at the Neeta School. In the past attendees have used the private lot belonging to P.J. Whelihan’s. Inasmuch as this is private property we cannot legally recommend you utilize it although the business has not complained in the past. If you do park there please do not leave anything behind.
Start & Race Course
The local Police Department will expect us to start at 8:30AM sharp and we will do everything we need to accomplish this. Runners will assemble in front of Vaughan Hall and we will initially ask all those runners expecting to run faster than 20 minutes elapsed to move forward to the starting line. Last year we had some issues with slower runners getting in the way of a clean start and there were some collisions although no one went down, but we want to avoid that this year. After they are in place we will ask all others to move forward. Keep in mind this is a road race and there may be some drivers out on the Trails so be aware of your surroundings at all times, your safety is paramount to us. Lakes Police will control major intersections, thank them and obey any orders or directions from them.
Prior to arriving at Vaughan Hall of Wednesday or Thursday it would be beneficial if you would find your bib number on this online alphabetized list. It will make everyones race day experience less confusing. The same list will be printed and posted inside Vaughan Hall.
Bibs need to be worn on your front for the system to time you. If for some reason you pick up your bib race day morning and decide not to run please do not bring it near the finish line or you may be picked up as a finisher and confuse the results. Bibs are also specific to individuals so for those who pickup multiple bibs please ensure the bib you wear has your name on it. Printed results will be posted in Vaughan Hall in increments of 50 as finishers cross the finish line. Online results and an HD finish line video will be posted same day. For those of you we have email addresses for we will send you a link to the online results as soon as they are available.
Medford Lakes Mad Paddlers
Will have an information table for their “Jingle All the Way 5K” on Saturday, December 17th. This race is also USATF certified and chip timed.
